Tree City USA

The Village of Deer Park has qualified for the ninth year in a row as a Tree City USA. In order to become a Tree City, the Village has to meet four standards: 

1. A Tree Board
2. A Tree Care Ordinance
3. Community Forestry Program
4. An Arbor Day Observance and Proclamation

Growth Award

The Village of Deer Park has also qualified for the fourth year for the Tree City USA Growth Award which is presented by the Arbor Day Foundation to participating Tree City USA communities that demonstrate higher levels of tree care and community engagement during the calendar year. The Growth Award recognizes major milestones and annual activities in five categories that combine to build sustainable community forestry programs over the long term.   

Park Usage Form

All parks are available for public use. Reservations are only accepted for sports fields and require a fee to reserve. Submission of the Park Use Application (PDF) must be reviewed by the Village of Deer Park.

Memorial Bench and Tree Program

For a limited time the Village of Deer Park welcomes residents to commemorate an individual or family who have lived in Deer Park. Benches and Trees are available at a 50/50 split with the Village. Staff will work with residents to assist with bench and tree selections as well as park location.  Download order forms or email Karen Kasregis for more information.
