Once inside, the suspects distract homeowners while accomplices steal valuables such as jewelry, cash, and electronics. The Village of Deer Park, known for its peaceful neighborhoods, is not immune to these deceptive tactics, and we urge residents to remain vigilant to protect themselves and their property.
To stay safe, please verify the identity of anyone claiming to provide a service before allowing them into your home—contact the company they claim to represent using a verified phone number, not one provided by the individual. Be cautious of unsolicited visitors, even if they appear legitimate, and never leave strangers unattended in your home.
