IDOT Road Closure Notice: IL 59 Closing at Rail Crossing in Barrington

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that repairs to the Union Pacific Railroad crossing on Hough St (IL 59), north of Main Street/County Line Road in Barrington, will require a full closure starting, weather permitting, at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23

A detour will direct motorists to County Line Road/Main Street, Hart Road and Northwest
Highway (US 14).

The work is expected to be complete by, weather permitting, 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips though this area.  Drivers are urged to pay close attention to detour signs in the work zones, obey the3 posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
