Traffic Shift: Ela at Long Grove Road
Construction is now in the second stage. This means that work has progressed far enough to shift traffic to the east side of Ela Road, allowing crews to complete the storm sewer on the west side of the road.
During this stage, the bike path into Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve will be closed to allow for the realignment and paving of a new path. The new path will be 8 feet wide and realign to cross Ela Road at the south side of the intersection with Long Grove Road and continue on the west side of the road to Fox Glove Lane. When the traffic signal is installed, crosswalks with pedestrian buttons will be added at the intersection.
Traffic Impacts: The north entrance to Fox Glove Lane and the Ela Road access to the Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve path will remain closed until mid-September.
A work zone speed limit is in effect. Please drive carefully through this area and watch for flaggers. One lane road operations in each direction will continue to allow for the completion of the remaining storm sewer crossings.
