groot logo

The landscape waste season begins on April 1st through November 30th.  Do not put debris in the Village Right of Way until Tuesday April 4th for pickup.

Residents who have limited volumes of landscape may purchase a sticker and place the sticker on each biodegradable "Kraft" bag that does not exceed 33 gallons. Yard waste which is too bulky to be placed in a bag, such as branches or brush must be securely tied and bundled. Branches may not exceed 3" in diameter.

Each yard waste bag or bundle requires one (1) sticker to be affixed to it when placed out for weekly collection. Collection is the same day as the refuse and recycling collection. Branches Bundles: 4 inches in diameter, tied securely, bundles not to exceed 4 feet, 45 pounds. Stickers are sold at the Deer Park Village Hall or Online for $3.25 per sticker.

Residents who generate higher volumes of landscape will have the option to register for the subscription program for $125.00. The subscription program includes one 95-gallon cart designated for landscape only. Residents can place additional landscape in biodegradable paper bags next to the cart at the curb for collection. Plastic or metal cans are not permitted. Residents must call Groot and subscribe for an annual fee. Subscription rate is not prorated if ordered after April 1st.

Grass clippings, leaves, twigs, garden debris, weeds, fruits, seeds, stalks, vines are acceptable landscape items. Landscape does not include wood timbers, plastic edging, plant pots or trays, fertilizer or landscape material bags, landscape fabric, root sections, sand, gravel, sod, firewood, rocks, bark, wood chips, excess amounts of dirt or animal waste.

Food Scraps: The program has now expanded to include food scraps. During the yard waste collection season, residents may now place food waste into the yard waste material. Do not place paper goods or non-perishable waste into the yard waste.
