Please beware: The Village has been notified of door-to-door solicitors who falsely represent themselves as our electric aggregation program supplier, MC Squared Energy Services (MC2). Please be assured that MC2 never sends solicitors door to door, nor do they make telephonic sales outreach efforts. If someone represents themselves as being from MC2, do not provide them with any personal information, especially your ComEd account number. If they provide information to you, please report the nefarious activity to the ICC at www.icc.illinois.gov/complaints.
What these door to door solicitors do is attempt to get your ComEd account number and slam your account in a scam to push you into higher rates. Residents are advised never to provide information and to terminate the conversation immediately.
The fact that MC Squared serves the Village of Deer Park through an Electric Municipal Aggregation program is public information on the Illinois Commerce Commission website. This is how we believe nefarious door-to-door callers are aware to use MC2’s name as a means of getting the homeowner to respond.
