- Meet Deputy David McNichol
Originally from California, Deputy McNichol proudly served our nation as a Corpsman in the US Navy. Deputy McNichol began his law enforcement career with the Lake Forest Police Department in 2001 and he was a lateral transfer to the Sheriff’s Office in 2003. Since that time, Deputy McNichol has served in Civil Process, Community Services, and Highway Patrol. Deputy McNichol is currently assigned to day shift in the Village of Deer Park where he is well-liked by the residents and businesses. Deputy McNichol is our main advocate for Special Olympics and he leads the fundraising efforts for the Polar Plunge, Cop on a Rooftop, Law Enforcement Torch Run, Plane Pull, and Tip a Cop.
- Meet Deputy Sean Werchek
Serving the people of Lake County since 2015, Deputy Werchek previously served our nation for four years as a Marine in the United States Marine Corps where he completed two deployments to Afghanistan. Deputy Werchek now provides exemplary service to the residents of the Village of Deer Park during the afternoon shift.
- Meet Deputy Vasile Pop
Deputy Pop is one of several deputies who immigrated to the United States from another country. Prior to becoming a United States citizen in 2004, Deputy Pop served for 10 years in the Romanian National Police Force, retiring as a Captain. Deputy Pop was hired by the Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer and he served in that capacity for four years prior to becoming a Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Pop has been assigned to Highway Patrol since 2010 and he currently serves as a night shift deputy for the Village of Deer Park.
