Consolidated Elections for Three (3) Village Trustees April 4, 2023 

The following positions will be available within the Village of Deer Park, IL, Lake & Cook Counties for the April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election: Three (3) Trustees – Full, Four-Year Term. 

If you are looking for a way to be more involved in your community, consider running for Village President or Village Trustee. There are three steps to follow in order to allow your name on the ballot and run for Trustee as an Independent candidate: 

1) Pick up a candidate petition packet at the Village of Deer Park Hall during normal business hours or download the 2023 Candidate’s Guide from https://www.elections.il.gov, under “Running for Office”. Packets are available now at the Village Hall from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. 

2) Circulate your petition for candidacy. A candidate running for Village President or Village Trustee for Deer Park needs a minimum of 23 signatures from registered voters living in the Village and not more than 73. Be sure to adhere to state law regarding the first day to circulate petitions which is September 20, 2022 for candidates seeking election in the 2023 Consolidated Election. 

3) Candidates must file their petition packet with the Village Clerk during the filing period. The first day to file petitions is Monday, December 12, 2022 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and the last day to file petitions at the Village Hall is Monday, December 19, 2022 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Candidate names will be placed on the ballot in the order in which the qualified petitions have been filed. However, if there are simultaneous filings at 8:00 a.m. on the first day (including any petitions received in the first mail of that day and for those waiting in line at 8:00 a.m.), a lottery will be held to determine which filer is named on the election ballot first. For any petitions filed between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. on the last day, a lottery will be held to determine which filer is named on the election ballot last. Any lottery will be held on December 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Deer Park Village Hall in the Clerk’s Office 23680 W. Cuba Rd., Deer Park, IL 60010. Please note the Village Office Staff will not notarize any of these documents.

The last day for filing objections to any candidate petition is Tuesday, December 27, 2022 by 4:00 p.m.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Village Office of Deer Park will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday beginning September 20, 2022 through December 16, 2022 and on December 19, 2022 the office will remain open until 5:00 p.m. for the purpose of accepting candidate petitions for certificates for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 4, 2023 for the following offices. Three (3) Trustees – Full, Four-Year Term.
