Achieving sustainability will enable the Earth to continue supporting human life.

The Village formally endorses the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus’s Greenest Region Compact (GRC) and commits to work in concert to achieve its goals. The GRC presents consensus goals for environmental sustainability to be addressed by local municipalities that will have coordinated, positive impacts on a much larger scale.

What is sustainability? Sustainability is the ability to meet our needs without compromising the ability of future generation to meet theirs.

From the provided GRC Framework, the Village has constructed the following Sustainability Plan. The purpose of this plan is to identify Focus Areas and Goals that the Village can use as a framework for making educated decisions based on resource conservation and life-cycle costs.

Details of the plan are organized around 10 categories;
  1. Climate
  2. Economic Development
  3. Energy
  4. Land
  5. Leadership

  2. Municipal Operations
